The Light That Never Left

The Adebola family thought something was wrong.

It started on a quiet Sunday evening. Mum had prayed for strength after a long week. Dad prayed for wisdom at work. Even little Zara whispered a prayer for her school test.

Yet on Monday morning, Dad sighed as he tied his tie.

“I don’t feel very strong today,” he muttered.

Mum paused. “Feel?” she asked gently.

“Since when did God’s power depend on how we feel?”

That question changed everything.

A Misunderstanding in the Living Room

Later that evening, the family gathered for devotion. Dad read from the Bible about the anointing, then shook his head.

“I always thought the anointing comes and goes,” he said. “Like rain—sometimes heavy, sometimes light.”

Zara frowned. “So… when it goes, are we empty?”

Mum smiled. “Let’s find out.”

She picked up a lamp and switched it on.

“Is the light inside this lamp coming and going?” she asked.

“No,” Zara replied. “It stays until you unplug it.”

“Exactly,” Mum said. “The Holy Spirit lives in us permanently. He doesn’t visit—He abides.”

That night, something clicked. They realised they weren’t waiting for power. They already had it.

Grace at the Dinner Table

On Tuesday, Mum felt overwhelmed with chores. Dad felt stretched at work. Zara struggled with homework.

Instead of saying, ‘Lord, give me strength,’ Mum said something new:

“Thank You, Lord, for the grace You’ve already given me.”

Dad whispered at work,

“Your wisdom is working in me right now.”

Zara smiled during her test and thought,

“The Holy Spirit is helping me.”

They noticed it—things became easier. Not because life changed, but because they understood grace.

They weren’t asking for more anointing.

They were using the grace already supplied.

When Trouble Knocked

On Wednesday, bad news came. Dad’s project was challenged. Normally, worry would fill the house.

But that evening, Mum said,

“This is not a setback. This is an opportunity.”

Zara added,

“Pastor said the anointing breaks yokes!”

They prayed—not fearfully, but confidently.

By Friday, the challenge turned into promotion. Dad stared at his email in disbelief.

“The blessing did this,” he said quietly.

“No,” Zara corrected him with a grin.

“We did this—because we are the blessing.”

The Secret They Learned

On Saturday morning, the family sat together again.

Dad said, “I’ve realised something. God’s Word works when we act on it.”

Mum nodded. “The Word is alive in our home now.”

Zara hugged her Bible. “It’s like a seed. When we plant it, it grows.”

They made a family decision that day:

·They would stop waiting and start walking.

·They would stop asking for power and start acting in faith.

·They would speak the Word, live the Word, and expect results.

The Lesson for Every Family

From that week onward, the Adebola family changed—not because problems disappeared, but because their understanding changed.

They learned:

·The anointing never leaves.

·Grace grows when you use it.

·The blessing makes you a blessing.

·Growth has no limit.

·The Word works when families work it.

And every night, before bed, they declared together:

“We are fully anointed.

We are richly graced.

We are endlessly growing.

And God’s Word is working in our family.”

And it truly was.
